The business was started in 1988 by owner Don Hewitt, who had been working in the oil industry since 1977. Don launched Hewitt Home Heating in January 1988 as a service-only company and by June of that year, expanded our services to include oil delivery. Since then, we’ve become known throughout Somerset County, New Jersey as one of the area’s best and most reliable heating oil companies. In fact, some might even say that the name Hewitt is synonymous with prompt, personal, high-quality home heating service. That’s because efficiency, quality and customer satisfaction are the values Don founded this company on, and they are the values he shares with each of his skilled employees.

Make no mistake, though. Just because this local business has cemented its reputation doesn’t mean Don feels comfortable enough to sit around in an office. Over the years, the one thing that has most set Hewitt Home Heating apart from the competition is the owners hands-on approach, and nothing has changed there. Don continues to work on site, dealing with the customer directly, doing repairs, installations, and all the rest. If the customers have any questions or concerns, they don’t have to go through a middle-man, they can bring them to the man himself.
